  • Essex County Council is commissioning a 7 day a week service for a three-month period in the town and city centres of Braintree, Chelmsford and Colchester. Operation Vanguard is intended to provide a visible presence to reassure residents, deter any potential anti-social behaviour and to collect evidence if any incident occurs. The licensed operatives will cover agreed patrol routes and will work to help Essex residents feel safer and more secure in the town and city centres.

As the statutory Waste Disposal Authority for Essex, Essex County Council (the Authority) is responsible for providing a range of infrastructure and arrangements for the management of waste. The Authority operate 21 Recycling Centres for Household Waste (RCHW) and 5 Waste Transfer Stations (WTS), and work closely with the 12 borough, city and district councils who are the Waste Collection Authorities (WCA) within the county of Essex. Brief Overview of the Requirement: The Authority has a requirement for a variety of plant machine vehicles across a variety of sites throughout the county, ECC is publishing a survey which is intended to enable Essex further develop it's upcoming tender. We are asking suppliers to give us information on what proportion of their hiring price is repair and maintenance on the following machines: 20 tonne material handlers, 20 tonne loading shovels and 16/17 tonne material handlers. This tender is to procure hire, including repair and maintenance, of the following machines lotted as follows: Lot 1: 4 Loading Shovels (20 Tonne) to be used at the Waste Transfer Stations. Lot 2: 3 Materials Handlers (20 Tonne) to be used at the Waste Transfer Stations. Lot 3: 12 Materials Handlers (16 Tonne) to be used at the RCHWs.

  • Essex County Council (ECC) is planning to issue a tender as early as 2026 for a contract(s) relating to the anaerobic digestion treatment and disposal of food waste collected from households in the Essex area. The required treatment services must start on 1 April 2028. ECC manages approximately 40,000 tonnes per annum of separately collected household food waste. The contracting authority is Essex County Council and any Successor Body meaning one or more entities which assumes any of the Council's functions (as applicable) as a result of Local Government Reform (LGR). Such successor body or bodies may be, without limitation, a local authority, a combined authority, a combined county authority, a strategic authority or any other status determined pursuant to the Devolution and LGR Legislation. The estimated value provided includes the extension period.
